Can a children’s book REALLY help an adult?
Gossie & Gertie
by Olivier Dunrea
Olivier’s series of books, for the 4 years old and younger crowd, showcase Gossie, Gertie, Ollie, Gideon, Peedie, BooBoo, Gemma, Gus, Jasper & Joop! A wonderful gaggle of goslings that you and your children will love. Many of the struggles of a toddler are addressed in this series. Struggles like friendship, sharing, stubbornness and losing a favorite thing. Olivier incorporates moles, mice, spiders and frogs beautifully in his pen, ink and watercolor perfection! This book in particular deals with friendship. You will not agree on everything, but with some give and take from both of you a wonderful relationship will bloom!
How does THIS series of books help and adult reader? A Toddler’s struggles aren’t that far removed from our own…hmmm?

A great activity would be to watch a video together of an egg hatching. and discuss it. Better yet, find a small hatchery or someone’s home that hatches baby chicks and visit!
Another alternative would be to watch a video of an egg hatching, discuss it, then go to your local rural farm store (like Rural King) and enjoy all the baby fowl for sale there! It will be fun and memorable for you and your child!
