Can a children's book REALLY help adults too?
A Chicken Followed Me Home! by Robin Page

Many of my friends have chickens and many more want them at their home. This is a really fun intro to the possibility of raising chickens! Did you know a young Rhode Island Red chicken produces up to 300 eggs a year! You would if you read this book. ( YOU know without reading the book :? )
I don't even want to raise chickens and I enjoyed this book :) You and the children in your life will too!

THE COLORS by Monique Felix

May I sing some Chicago right now to children’s book illustrator Miss Monique Felix?
"You're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration..."
I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT MONIQUE FELIX! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE HER BOOKS! She has a series of picture books (no words) that are amazing (The Colors, The Numbers, The Letters, The Wind, The Boat).
A much used and loved copy of The Colors is pictured here. My children loved this book. They didn't really have a choice because I read it to them weekly if not daily! It's a great interactive time for caregiver and child because YOU MAKE UP/DISCUSS THE STORY. Creative and beautifully illustrated wordless story book!

Andrew Drew and Drew by Barney Saltzberg

This is an enjoyable book about observing the world around you! After reading this book, you and your child will have a lifetime of opportunities to play the following wonderful and simple game together.
All you need is any kind of paper and any writing utensil! Let the child make any kind of mark or doodle on the paper and then YOU "finish" the drawing by turning it into something, anything!
Depending on the age of the child take turns starting and finishing the picture. It's easy and it's fun. I used to do it in a classroom situation by having children come to the blackboard / whiteboard! Great when you need to pass some time together or just because.
